Privacy
Scientist.chat has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or phone number. A conversation with Erlen still has to be processed to work, and this page lists what that involves.
What is stored when you chat
- The messages you send and the replies, in our chat service's database, hosted on Cloudflare.
- A random conversation ID, the time, the page you chatted from, the language, and the country your connection appears to come from.
- A copy of the conversation in your own browser tab until you close it or press "New chat".
Conversations are kept so the service can run and be improved. There is no fixed deletion date at the moment.
Who processes your messages
To write a reply, your message and the earlier messages in the same conversation are sent to AI model providers. The chat service currently uses DeepSeek, with Alibaba Cloud's Qwen model as a fallback. Both are operated by companies based in China and process text on their own servers under their own terms. Cloudflare hosts the website, the chat service and its database.
Please do not type passwords, card or bank numbers, identity numbers, your address or private details about other people.
Who can read conversations
The people who maintain the service can read conversations to keep it working and to improve it. Nobody will contact you about them, because the site does not hold your contact details.
Visit counts
The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. We see totals such as page views, countries and device types.
Fonts and images
Fonts and images are served from this site and our own image host. The links to official sources open those organizations' websites.
Age
The site is written for adults and older students. It is not aimed at children, and Erlen does not ask your age.
Your choices
Press "New chat" to clear the conversation from your browser at any time. Because conversations are not linked to a name or account, we usually cannot find a particular one on request.
